The official food blog of the dish since 2011.
Jay is a lifelong New Yorker who believes every dish should have its day. That’s why unlike other publications, the goal of The Dishelin Guide is to help you find the best dishes in New York, period. If you are the type of diner who doesn’t care about spotting celebs or eating off of white table cloths, you’ve come to the right place.
The Dishelin Guide provides a brief (and occasionally entertaining) description of the restaurant before delving into the good stuff – what to eat. Every dish is described and rated on our proprietary four-star scale so you know not just what to order at a given restaurant, but how each dish stacks up against every other one in town. For a full description of what the Rating System means, click here.

Jay – in collaboration with other food writers – has created an app called DishEnvy to make finding the perfect dish in NYC as easy as a few taps on the iPhone. It provides a map of the best dishes in New York in popular categories like pizza, burgers and dumplings. Click the logo above to learn more and download it for free.
